I didn't realize or remember that Chad is 1 of only 2 college athletes to win a National Championship in football and baseball, the other being Jared Mitchell. I'm sure he would give them both up to not be in this situation. It's sad to see such a gift possibly be lost. Hopefully God will watch over him and protect him. If there is a lesson to be learned it is that in a moments time your entire life can change. Hopefully in Chads case should God protect him and bring him to a full recovery, he will have an even greater appreciation for the talents he has.
And then, someday, when he's in the NFL or MLB Hall of Fame, we'll see an inspirational movie about how he "never gave up". I sure hope the title is "Dreadlocks of Doom". Good Luck, Chad, with your rehab and recovery. Thanks for the great memories at LSU - now go out and prove yourself in the NFL. Godspeed, Chad Jones!
Thank God, Chad got a miracle! You've got a long way to go, Chad, so be strong! Looking at that Range Rover, no one should've walked away from it! Chad, the Tiger Nation is behind you & we know you can overcome this stepping stone in your life & remember we all make mistakes! Good luck!
If he can't play football, he should focus on trying to play baseball again. I have a feeling any team would die for a lefty who can give you 1 or 2 good innings.
It still takes legs to be a pitcher. Hopefully he will regain at least 80% of the strength and mobility in his leg, ankle, and foot. Should he, he could be a solid pitcher.
i know chad jones is an athlete and probably doesnt know how to not compete. but right now i just hope for a happy healthy and normal life for him. it is a miracle he lived. however, he does seem like a kid with drive and spirit and if physically his body will heal enough to where he can pitch, i can see him making it work.
Which is the most important thing of all. The concern that we LSU fans have above and beyond being happy that he is alive, is to hopefully see him return to the level that allows him to compete in at least one of the sports that we all watched him excel at. Never to be mistaken that any of us aren't just happy that he survived and that with excellent medical treatment, and his strength, he will be able to keep his foot/leg, and be able to walk again. He still has a long way to go, and hopefully the Lord will give him the strength to heal beyond his physical wounds. Beyond the physical trauma his body and leg are going thru will be the mental anguish and depression of dealing with possibility of never having his dreams come to fruition. This part of his rehab could be what limits his recovery. He is a strong young man and can do it if all things go well with his physical rehabilitation.
