I don't believe he will have a role on the baseball team next year. I believe he is full time football now.
He was struggling on the academic side this year during baseball season, so the decision was made to take this season off in an effort to bring up his grades and then make a decision next season about whether he'll play baseball or not. Football is where the money's at, though.
btw...this makes me think...Helenihi's spot in RF is by no means wrapped up with the way he ended the season at the plate. Could you imagine J-Mitch in LF, Landry in CF, and CJ in RF....OH THE SPEED!!!
Helinihi would probably move back to the infield maybe at 3B if CJ gets back on track. With that said, I see football where CJ makes more of an impact although I think JM is better at baseball than at wideout.
I thought this for a while as well, but dude has a lot to learn. Most importantly, how to hit a curve ball and not get picked off constantly from first base.
