casey at the bat for tri-parish times. just happened to run across this article. maybe mett has finally woken up. more grades here
Mett has seemed to catch up some but the stuff on JJ is not accurate according to what I have heard from people actually at practice and the scrimmages. All have said he has made better decisions, way more consistent and confident, more vocal, accurate, etc... I read other boards saying the same as the article but not from my sources or friends with other sources who actually attended. Not surprised though. Scout has also had many interviews with the players over the fall camp and everyone who has been asked about JJ has said the same as I have. Deangelo has a good recent article talking at length about JJ's progress. Not saying he is going to be a whole new person by any means. I will hold of judgement until I see him in a game.
i think it may be like iraqs information minister. the talking heads from LSU are mostly reporting the positives of JJ while others not quite as tied to the program seem to have a largely different view. at least in some instances. i mean its all nice that hes doing the little things you'd want (outside of bar fighting) but does it translate on the field? i guess we'll see. Some think not at the moment.
The ones I have talked to don't have that strong bias as some of the media outlets. I can say for sure 2 of them are nega-jeffersons. LOL Just don't tell JJ he sucks to his face.
Not surprised by clair's writeup. JJ's ceiling is more like a floor. He doesn't have one. With everything going on, we may be much better served letting Mett play the entire season. Trust me, it won't be any worse than starting JJ. And by mid season, Mett will be hitting his stride.
I agree. I have seen than dumb phuckin look on JJ's face too many times following a 3 and out. Maybe he gave up on trying to learn how to read defenses. I hope they find him out in the bar every night prior to the game.
