Maybe I didn’t think it was worth an answer. Seriously there are many possible ways to sing the anthem. However it’s sung it should respect the sentiment, sense of the words and the roots of the music. It’s a platform to embrace the hope and meaning of the United States..... not a vehicle to show yourself. Whitney Houston’s version was one of my favorites and there are others by many singers with different voices and styles that embrace the idea of the song. It seemed the one Monday night was more about “Look at me” then remember what we aspire to as a country.
