Pretty good analyst over in Florida. Very complimentary of LSU at night, etc... Only things I disagree with excluding the score predictions is that Chavis doesn't have the defense clicking yet and the guy saying the LSU automatically gets 7 points for being at home when discussing the spread. It is 3 points and I feel the defense is getting better and better each week this season. Overall, very fair analysis: YouTube - Round Table LSU vs UF
One thing that bugs me about the analysis- is the whole lauding of the UT game as a plan to stop Florida- the Vols only made Florida punt once, the reason the score was so low is because Tebow fumbled on the UT 2 once, and UT ran the clock instead of ever trying to win the game.
I find Spencer Tillman to be as astute and objective an announcer as there is on TV. He's not always right, but more often than not. He says LSU can play with Fla., and I believe him. My concern, both lines. We keep waiting for them to develop, and they get better, but the Fla. lines are good, all starters on the entire defense return, and they develop game by game also. We started farther back, so would have to develop faster than the gators. I still see it as a pick it game and I assume Tebow will not play (could be wrong on that). I pick the Tigers 22-21.
"I still see it as a pick it game" you mean despite of the evidence in your preceeding paragraph? do have inside info that the lines have been sandbagging all season?
No evidence they are sandbagging. But a bunch on new starters, some real young like Levingston. Mostly inexperienced, and I wonder about the line coaches. I have not been impressed with them this season.
I say watch every analyst with a grain of salt. They are no better than we are and probably worse at analyzing since these are our teams that we follow closely. Any of us if we take the time to reasearch the stats and the rosters etc can come to a decent guess on match ups. In games like this though it can go either way in a rivalry. Of course as a Gator I think and want my team to win but I also know your team is fantastic as well and can win, especially since we are missing our number one producer Tebow and playing in Death Valley(which I thought started out as Deaf Valley cause of the noise but it changed somehow to Death..correct me if Iam wrong). Neither of our teams have let the rabbit out of the hat as it were and played a full 60 minutes of quality ball. I think whichever team does that will win. I think there is a slight edge in talent on the Gator side but not on offense with the Tebow predicament. Whichever teams plays their A game will win. I am partial and think and hope that is the Gators. But as far as analysts I watch them for entertainment but really most just spew off a few facts theyve crammed to memorize for the quick TV spot and try to drum up ratings.
i think you are right in that cfn is no better than an average joe that follows a team closely, but the average joe doesnt follow all teams closely. plus cfn supposedly will not let emotions factor in their evaluation. i think cfn is the best. better than espn and far better than yahoo and cbssports.
