Yes. LSU shut it down in the second half, or else this game would have never been down to five. LSU was playing careless basketball and had some horrible shot selection. How many 15-20 foot turn around shots did LSU attempt in the second half? Hopefully Coach TJ breaks down the first half shot selection vs second half shot selection film and shows his players why Arkansas was able to chip away in the second half. I stick by it. Had LSU kept its intensity, this game was never close. I didn't see Arkansas' wins over Oklahoma and Texas, but I would like to. Anyway, we can't complain about a ten-point win. At least, I can't. :geaux:
arky boards are blowing up with "lsu has 8 players playing against 5" they are crying about the refs pretty hardcore
thats some selective memory. they took the same shots in the first half, but they fell, so they were good shots. the second half problems were because Arky turned up the intensity and forced several turnovers and they started hitting shots---3s and their post-player. the tigers have those cold spells when tas cant do much. they rely on the j too much and bo cant break down good guards. if bo and cj can hit a decent % of Js, though it wont often matter.
He was a walk-on at LSU several years ago. His older brother played at Ole Miss a few years before and got a standing ovation when his name was announced at that game. It was cool to see all of those players I remember growing up and when I was in school there. I got to talk to a couple of the 83-86 guys and reminisce about classes we had and such. The game was awesome...these Tigers have really come together. The crowd was really into it too. Props to the group of about 50 girls in green polo's in section 221 or so. They lead some pretty good cheers up there.
