lion killing is way too common. http://www.theguardian.com/environm...rt-story-behind-declining-lion-numbers-africa
We place a higher value on the higher animals in the food chain. They are usually majestic creatures. Should we value one life more than another. I don't know. Each culture is so different.
Nonsense. Just get another lion and call him Cecil. Relocate one that an expanding local population in Africa is about to shoot for killing their goats....and keep this one on the reserve.
The higher on the food chain the less animals there are. Except humans. We broke the food chain. We can either watch life happen or end it all.
The next male in line (Jericho) in this pride will probably kill Cecil's 12 cubs so he can't inset his own line.
So get the cubs and relocate them to Zoos, public or private game reserves/WMAs, research facilities, Mike Tyson, etc...
Jericho is a bad, bad puddy tat. We humans tend to anthopomorphize our pets and other animals and assign them human traits but the animals don't give a shit and just keep on being animals.
It would be different if the guy had not already been in trouble with the law for hunting illegally. If it was his first rodeo I might buy that story but given his track record, no thanks. They drug a dead animal behind a car to lure the lion off of it's reservation so the guy could shoot him. How unaware do you have to be in order to not notice this going on?
