When it appears that the QB/WR/TE combo can exploit your defense's LB/DB combo, then I think it's smart to play softer. I hate it. But it seems obvious that only PP can safely jam receivers at the line and still not get burned. Mo isn't there yet, Mathieu is WAY young, Brooks got burned.

I'm more concerned about the tackling and the inability to have the LBers make quick stops/pass breakups against that damned TE slant, or whatever it's called.

^ at the start of the game, PP and others were like 1 yard off the WR's, playing really close, but it just burnt them to many times.

This is another good point that people fail to understand. We are young in some key spots and, even though they are talented, It will jsut take a few times of getting burnt/yelled at to learn. Just the way it is.

The 97 yd. touchdown pass was significant in more ways than one. After that we started playing a sort of prevent defense. Woulda worked except for Ridley's fumble and the onside kick. Well I guess it did work, but WHEW!!!

I just saw a shocking stat from the game.

Yates had 46 passes and the LSU defense only had 2 passes broken up and one was Francois on the last play of the game which really wasn't a pass break up IMO.

So the other 16 incompletions there wasn't a LSU defender close. Wow!

Couple more interesting stats. The Heels were only 4 of 17 on 3rd down conversions. That surprised me. I thought it would have been more. Second was the Heels didn't return a punt.
