I have no respect whatsoever for kids who play us all the way until the last moment. Ryan P did this to Texas, and look what we got in return. Shows a true lack of character. He not only let down LSU, he let down the whole of Louisiana.

Tell me you would not enjoy watching him get leveled when we play Tenn in the future.

I will not wish this kid luck. I hope he has a very sorry career, and he regrets not coming to LSU until the day he dies.

An early signing period would not have changed this situation. An early signing period will allow schools to get a bulk of there recruits, but the elite players will still hold out and schools will hold a spot for them; Myles and Jackson would have still been on the board. A grace period will create a system which players jockeying from school to school until the next deadline. A system that allows a player to file a grievance against the school would still have the same issue as a grace period with more red tape. My point is the entire integrity of the system is dependant on the coaches. These conspiracies sound like Wayne and Garth trying to get the video signal into the back of Mr. Big's limo.
However, an early signing period would help identify the rats.

I'm glad Janzen has a backup plan to be a coach. He's going to need it.

Well ya'll are far from the only ones this happened to. My goodness. Alshon Jeffrey received an offer from USC before anyone else showed interest. He's claimed all along he was a strong USC commit despite taking some visits. After each visit he would reaffirm his commitment and up until Tuesday night claimed he was solid to USC. Seems Spurrier encourage that in order to make a big splash for USCe.

Te'o had his official visit to USC this last weekend. Family AND Te'o were claiming he was all USC. I don't know whether he called PC personally or not but last minute flips happend and I know some of the things Weiss did to get this kid. Not illegal but certainly pushing the limits.

Burfict never bothered to call PC directly despite the many hours of work going into giving him info over the last few months.

    Recruiting is ugly.

Some consolation here. We got Montgomery and Allen who were on Tennessee's board I think. We will be playing Tenn. here year after next so a good opportunity for a few boos and if he's playing a few runs by 250 lb Dominique Allen from Paris Tn. around his side might be in order too. I seriously doubt he will ever play in a SECCG let alone a BCSNCG game. Little Urbie Meyer will see to that.

:geaux: What you've just described seems to be the new pattern these days. Don't keep your word and screw someone over at the last minute. Sad, but as you said, recruiting has gotten ugly. :LSU231:
