Read what Kiffin said in the total sports forum. He admits he told one of Florida's recruits to pretend he was still committed when he actually signed with Tenn. I was the idiot who did not believe coaches would do that.
:geaux: The Dad lying and scamming LSU is what bothers me the most. No honesty or integrity what so ever:dis: And he's a coach! His future recruits to Miami, OH. should really take what he says with a grain of salt. And sadly his son seems to have picked up on the lack of honesty/integrity trait. Like father like son I guess. Again, Tiger Bait! :LSU231:
The Truth about the Janzen play (Posted on 2/5 at 11:22 a.m.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What really happened They have had Janzen for a while, promise his dad a coaching job, in a year or so, whatever, alls fair in love war and recruiting...ask USC and Reggie Bush Of course, his dad is not taking the coaching job at UT this year. ( sure to send up flags to NCAA), plus they already have a DB coach so "O" gets him a job in Ohio with a buddy. Problem is Myles was looking hard at LSU, and plays the same postition so if they sign Janzen thay probably lose Myles as LSU will put press on and he will be only safety in a strong class. They want them both but need a rouse. They promise starting job to Janzen if he plays ball. His dad is a college coach so he knows the game. LSU hears rumors Janzen to UT, but dad and son tell everyone they are firm with LSU and re-commit to Myles. They also say that they are holding their signing day ceremony until day after NSD so Mom can be there. It is all a complete lie, it is so that Myles will sign a binding LOI with UT and LSU will not press him. UT actualy has Janzen's LOI the day before NSD and holds it so Myles doesn't know. It works like a charm, everbody is completely fooled as Janzen is booed off the stage at his high school in Lake Charles. Probably because he lied to his coaches and all his classmates. They even have a good cover story, that the Defensive coach that recruited him left. Of course, this was known for months and is complete BS. I assume now that his dad will move into a 500k plus house owned by a UT booster at him new job for almost nothing using the scam that the guy could not sell it and he needed it occupied for insurance purposes. It was brillant, evil, but brillant. However, it doesnt work without Janzen and his dad Guidry playing along. They had to reaffirm their commimment and make up story about Mom. So fans from other boards forgive us as we go completely nuts, but he have never been done in by a local kid like this before. This story would make agreat SI or rivals article, hint. The real victims are Miles and Myles. You bama guys better start warning next years class. These guys are some kind of new super slick type of orange. I cant blame them, as they really need help but fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. For you guys wishing this kid luck, ...sorry but you are suckers. He just played us like a toy
Wow. Poor Myles. How happy is he going to be at UT knowing he was the victim of such a slimy scam at the hands of his very own coachs? There should probably be a grace period, within which you could withdraw your LOI to protect yourself from this type of thing. Of course, that may open Pandora's box for other sorts of rouses. But damn, there really should be some sort of measure to protect these kids from that type of nonsense.
Agree with the sentiment, but absolutely disagree with the idea. If there were, it just means that Jackson would have signed with LSU, and then signed with Tennessee right at the end of that period. And, as you alluded to, you don't want to see what comes about as a result of a "grace period".
That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. I know the idea obviously has holes, but I fail the believe that there isn't anything the NCAA could do to protect recruits from lying coaches. I mean, these kids put their future into the faith that they have in these coaches. Clearly, stretching the truth will always be a big part of recruiting. But conspiring like that should absolutely be curbed.
Kiffin is proving what a scumbag he is and so is the Jackson family for playing along in this little game. I really feel sorry for Myles. He made a decision on what people he thought he could trust told him, and now he probably regrets it. LSU will be ok Jackson doesnt make or break this class and they can fill Jackson's spot. But what does Myles do hes stuck there and was lied to by his future coaches and got played by one of his future teammates. Thats nice isnt it.
Im not upset by the fact that we lost this guy, but sheez, dont lie about it, him and his dad. Plus the whole, Im waiting on my mom thing was such BS, kid sent his papers in last night. You talking about burning bridges in Louisiana.
