I'm pretty confident Janzen will be a tiger. I don't put much thought into what dandy says.. but FWIW

If that's true.. stand-up man. Maybe he'll be our DB coach one day :miles:

:geaux: Chavis coming in may be the factor that keeps Jackson coming to LSU. I agree that I feel much better about him coming than I did prior to Chavis becoming DC. Had Maleveto stayed or just Mallory as DC, we may well have lost him. Anyway I'm much more confident now about LSU signing JJ but it won't be a done deal 'till NSD. Still some tough going trying to fend off Saban and Orgeron but I think CLM will do it. :LSU231:

    Re: Janzen Jackson

Okay, so here's the word from Lake Charles on Janzen Jackson. I talked to a couple of guys here last night while watching the MNC game. They had each talked directly to different coaches at Barbe seperately and claimed that both coaches said that they felt Janzen wanted to go to Bama. I find this hard to believe but I'm just letting you know what they said.

One of the guys I was talking to was a hard core bama fan and the other was an LSU fan. So I asked the Bama fan what they felt was their chance at getting JJ and he said 25%. Which I can understand. The word from the coaches was that Janzen may prefer bama but the family and everyone at school is pushing LSU. I personally don't think Bama is a major threat and has only an outside shot but I really don't know.

Obviously JJ has to be intrigued by the possibilities of being coached by Saban as a DB.

But ultimately he knows LSU is the place for him. Cooper coming on board helps decrease the gap of his perception of how well he can coached at the next level.

This new coaching staff is as good as has ever been assembled, IMO. They're a veritable dream team. Any defensive recruit with LSU as a finalist would be stupid not to come on board.

What I dont get about the Jackson situation is that he doesnt realize, that Bama has 74 players on the roster going into next season with plenty of DBs. Alonzo Lawrence is a good example Saban sold him a bill of goods and I dont remember him playing this season. Jackson should realize he has the chance to come here and play right away.

And I assume he noticed a true freshman Patrick Peterson started the last handful of games this season. :thumb:

Alonzo didn't play because he is as smart as a gerbil. It seems like Jackson would be a smart DB, and if that is the case he would play right away. Im sure that is what he is being told, and at the same time that's probably why he is being highly recruited by Saban.

In the end, I dont think it will matter.

Somebody needs to show him the tape of the final play in the Capital One Bowl and also the 2002 game against Arkansas.

Guidry will be Saban's biggest obstacle and hes not going to change. He wants his son to honor his commitment to LSU. JJ has actually favored Bama for awhile now but from what I heard, he doesn't want to go back on his word.

These coaches will slowly change his mind, I think he was just unsure at first with the coaching problems.
