I know I've been torched (sometimes rightfully so) on this board but I take these losses by the Tigers hard. Sometimes I don't express it the right way but I'll work on that. So here is my thoughts on this team. I believe that if we can get by SC this weekend in a close game it could be the catalyst to take us on a big run. I think we come back and get UGA the next weekend in a statement game. It leaves two big games for us IMO. Alabama and Ole Miss (yes that Ole Miss) There won't be any bigger game for CLM than when Satan comes to town. Then Ole Miss who is better than most think. Conversely, if we lose this weekend, I think we could be in for a 4 loss season. Bottomline, GEAUX TIGERS! This is a huge game.
Ole Miss worries me as much as Georgia or Bama. Ole Miss will come at us in an unconventional manner on offense, and that's our weakness on D. We can bang with the best of them when they have standard formations and teams that are more smash mouth football (like Ohio State). That ole Nutt is crazy but effective. We remember him well last year. So we have 3 games that will challenge us. I don't believe South Carolina will pose a significant challenge.
That's more like it WestCoast. You actually sound logical in this post. Yes, Ole Miss could give us trouble with that offense. I think they finally have a winner at QB and that could make the difference for them. They are 3-3 and should really be 5-1. They fumbled while going into the endzone against Vandy with seconds left and forgot to milk a few more seconds off the clock at Wake Forest before scoring in the final minute or so. The most they have lost by is 7 against South Carolina. Their RBs (and receivers) are very good and hard to stop in that Wild Hog Offense (See Florida in The Swamp). They are pretty balanced this year as well. It's sort of like a Florida offense in that it can cause you to pause for a second to see who is actually getting the ball. Thank God we don't have to play them at Ole Miss this year. We should be able to score enough points on them though, but who knows... Bama better watch out this weekend because I was thinking that Ole Miss might give them their first loss. They are definitely capable of doing it. Yes, this weekend will be big to see how we respond from a bad loss. Spurrier is very due to take one from us, but hopefully it isn't this time. Their O isn't that great, but they are definitely a challenge.
I am pretty confident for this weekend. I hope the players come out with a chip on their shoulders and play with focus, not emotion.... maybe a little emotion. (Edit: Why is there always so much space under my posts? downtown doesn't have a sig and his posts don't do this.)
