Ever think what it would feel like to run out of the tunnel with the LSU Tigers? Or maybe walk down Victory Hill with your Tigers? Here's your chance...... AP -- JACKSON CLARION-LEDGER - THURSDAY 10/8/09 With scalpers getting as much as $2,200 for a ticket to Saturday's battle between No. 1 Florida and No. 4 LSU at Baton Rouge, host LSU saw a chance to make a little profit. The school is auctioning off a chance to not only see the game, but take part in some of the team traditions like the walk down Victory Hill and running out of the chute onto the field. A school athletic spokesman said the opening bid was for $12,000. Kind out of my league there. But it would be nice. Would make for some lifetime photos too. Wonder if anyone will even notice? Except his family. (or her family):geaux:
Here's the problem I have with the auction: No LSU Priority Points are awarded for the winning bid. All that cash, and you don't get priority points for it? What kind of dumb ass idea was that?
thats called bend over and like it. :dis: points would be a nice touch. tho its not like i could pony up even a small fraction of it.
Someone who can afford to drop $15k+ on this is probably already in the top 250 donors with TAF, but $15k will get you 15 priority points & that could move you up a bunch of spots. If I had the cheese to bid on this, I would only do it if TAF changed that rule. Otherwise, I just give the $15k directly to a TAF program that gets double points & get 30 priority points instead.
I am going to say that the person who wins already gets on the field with their $100K purple jacket and doesnt even know what a priority point is. I remember a few years ago the purple jacket guys were on the field for whatever reason. They were mostly a bunch of old guys in slacks and ties. There was one young guy staggering around in a pair a khaki shorts, flops, and of course the jacket, which looked like it was probably in a ball in back of his truck 10 minutes before. How awesome would it be to go to that guy's tailgate!
And you don't even get to stay on the field to watch the game with the team. You get to watch the game with Joe in the press box. Only an 1h 45min left.
