Dude that's so 20 minutes ago. Seattle Seahawks fire Jim Mora; Pete Carroll courted, sources say - ESPN
:rofl::rofl: Can't even call it "news"paper anymore. Nothing in it that wasn't on the internet seconds after it happened.
Maybe he thinks the NCAA won't accept their cheating bs anymore. Would be glad to see him leave college football.
I still don't think Carroll, Saban, or Spurrier can win on a consistent basis at the next level. The big ego, little man syndrome doesn't work well in the NFL. Control freaks can succeed in college but will have a hard time with men. Carroll didn't set the world on fire in New York or New England and I think the game has changed even more while he has been in college. Even so...if he leaves USC, he can walk away with his head high as his team as won all 12 BCS titles. :hihi: Do the Saints play Seattle next season? Maybe we now have a team that will trade us something for Reggie Bush.
Saban was lured to Miami by an owner (Wayne Huizenga) willing to spend a ton of money. The only other thing tugging at Saban was his ego and belief he could win at the next level. Carroll is being courted by an owner (Paul Allen) who has more money than any NFL owner so he can buy him if he chooses. Carroll also is arrogant enough to believe he can waltz in and win big at the next level. The additional factor here could be that USC has committed enough significant violations that the NCAA can't even ignore this time. Issues with Reggie Bush, Matt Lienart, O.J. Mayo, and Joe McKnight may lead to severe penalties...maybe even lack of institutional control. It's all speculation now but maybe it's finally all coming together.
This is gonna be very interesting but in the end, I think PC knows he can't be a successful NFL coach and the risk of the NCAA actually doing something to USC is so slim that it can be considered nonexistant.
