So Les is making $50,000 more than Nick, eh? Damn strong. Les is still a bargain, coming in at #48 on the percentage of revenues sorting. But Bo Pellini is a steal coming in at #110 at Nebraska.
George O'Leary at UCF about made me fall out of my seat...I guess I remember all the talk about his salary when he was hired but I forgot. Darn glad they showed some improvement this season because he could have been in some trouble if not. That is a tough salary to cover if you can't win.
I would not have guessed that the gamecocks generated $46 mill from football, 5th in the SEC. And I would have pegged Oklahoma at $60+ mill.
June Jones % shocked me...20% of the projected revenue makes me wonder where a lot of their revenues are coming from.
Surely that is a result of hard times. I expect Bo will give them at least a 10 mill pop within the next two years. Think of the shockwave that has to all the other sports in their program?
It should be interesting to see and I sure wouldn't say never, cause Nebraska isn't THAT far off of us- though I understand where you're coming from. In '05 they actually hauled in a class rated higher than ours, by rivals' standards, anyway; and last year they were in the mix. Nebraska’s recruiting class rankings: ’04.................#27 (LSU#2) ’05.................#5 (LSU # 22) ’06.................#20 (LSU #7) ’07................#13 (LSU #4) ’08................#30 (LSU #11) No surprises they fell down pretty far this year with the coach vacancy occuring (Just as we did in '05). I would think a storied program like Nebraska could recruit Top 10 classes on a consistent basis with the right guy in place. They seem to have been in a troubled state since the firing of Solich after their AD refused to "gravitate into mediocrity" with a 9-3 season- which was actually 10-3 with the bowl game but Frankae was gone and Pelini interim coach. That 5-6 the following year musta stung. In fact, they've only won 9 games once in the 4 years after FS being booted and that was with 5 loses in '06.
