No offense to the NC poster but I felt all along that we would win, you know with my purple and gold glasses and all. I'll feel relief when the clock says 00:00 and we have more points.

Yeah, I guess that's why I've always pulled for Miss. State when they weren't playing against LSU. In my lifetime, they've never really posed a threat, or at least none that I can remember other than a win every blue moon. They are my second favorite team in the SEC.

Mich. State. Never bothered us, but is a bitter rival to Michigan. I ways pulled for them too. I hate USC and don't care too much for Oregon, so I usually pull for Cal to do well in the Pac-10.

UNC is just one of those teams you can't help but pull for, I guess. This would make a good thread: "Favorite Non LSU College Football Teams."

My .02 for the coaching staff, prepare for this game as if nothing has happened. I read a book titled "Death in the Long Grass" which was stories from a safari guide in Africa. He said the the worst thing, the last thing, the most shat your pants thing you could ever do is track a wounded leopard into the bush. I feel that NC is the wounded leopard here. We have the big gun and need to finish them off and I hope we do. I don't like any of this news coming out and truly wish none of it was so. I want our boys to play them at their best. I hope the team doesn't think they can thow their helmets onto the field and collect a win because of this. The bottom line is nothing good can come of this. It sucks for everyone.

With all due respect to OP, I think this thread should be titled, "Tarheels Shoots Self in Foot"...

Regardless of who plays and who does not, this is not how a team would like to prepare to play another Top 20 foe, from the SEC no less, on a neutral field, on national television...

If Davis pulls a win out of this one, he's a damned good head football coach, regardless of institutional control etc....

Fear, sorry to hear this. You will find out soon just what your boys are made of. Should they ralley together, win or lose our game, but show strength with pride, you'll know you still could have an enjoyable season. If not, well that will be sad. Have always cheered for you guys as the underdogs of the ACC. I hope the best for you and that this doesn't destroy your teams drive.

This. I hate it for UNC, but I also know that people will use it as an excuse for us if we win, and I'm talking about LSU fans.

I read that Charles Brown and Kendrick Burney have been kicked off the team and 4 D starters maybe left by end of next week.

Looks like the tutor that is the source of the academic probe worked for Butch Davis personally at some point in time:

Oh, and the wayward tutor did in fact work for coach Butch Davis, by his own admission, as an "academic coach" and "advisor" to his son:

"The tutor that is in question in this investigation is someone that has previously been employed by our family. She was one of five individuals over the course of the last three years, some within the university system and some outside the university system, that our family has employed to be an academic coach and an academic advisor."

That doesn't sound like a "nanny," as she was repeatedly described earlier today. But she was – gasp! – in the head coach's house. Possibly doing math!

How Butch Davis' former tutor may torpedo North Carolina's season - Dr. Saturday - NCAAF* - Yahoo! Sports

I wonder if any of this puts his job in jeopard?

They report 7 starters on defense in trouble, Burney and brown already kicked off the team. It has been reported that 9 players have been religated to the scout team.
