I think all was pretty spot on. O-line played well. Ware, Ford and Hill looked great ... Hilliard needs some work .. that guy is just too big to go down so easy. D played great .. there's just nothing left to say on that. I think Minter nailed it ... they feed off the success of the offense. That's what was missing in the later part of the FL game ... the D just lost hope. But not this time .. the O gave them something to fight for. Mett ... looks better. He needs to work on that fade to the Endzone .. and Landry needs to work on that route. That should have been a catch .. but it could have been thrown better. I loved the little inside screen to Ware. That worked well. WR's did better. ODB should have caught the pass that went through his hands, but it was thrown high, so he gets a pass. ODB is defintely the premier WR on the team. Wright and Landry looked good as well. I agree ... not being critical ... but if we expect to beat Bama, we're going to have to open up the pass a little better. Still would've liked to see more TE action. .. and I wish we threw more in the middle. Those out routes are just dangerous ... as we all saw last night. If all you do is pass out routes, the D starts to key in on them and they are ideal for a pick 6 [just ask Jarrett Lee ... these were the same type passes that earned him his nick name].
The facts were that he had to learn a new position unexpectedly and under the spotlight during the season and was nursing a deep thigh bruise for a couple of games. Right now he knows his position much better and seems to have two good legs under him. What sucked was Davenport, who was Faulk's LT backup all spring and summer, but wasn't able to step up and take over when he went down.

Watching Hilliard last night he stops moving his feet at the line if there isn't a hole. As big as he is he needs to just try to bang his way thur and get what he can instead of stopping and getting tackled way to easy for a loss.
I would add two more under ugly, maybe call them "less than beautiful", ZM has to learn to rotate his cranium more than 20 degrees on a play, staring down receivers on routes easy to jump cost a TD and SOME SERIOUS "mo" shift. In addition, when you are looking at 9 guys that are "very close" to the line as in they KNOW you will turn around and hand the ball off, DO SOMETHING ELSE!!!
Great point. A former 5* recruit coming out of high school...which is more evidence that star ratings for high school players doesn't translate to success at the Division 1 level.
When Sam got that sack late in the fourth, everyone that was watching new that a sack was coming, the question was just who. SONIC SAM!
Another thing that bugged me was all the knocked down passes. Is Mettenberger just locking on too much and not getting rid of the football quick enough, or did South Carolina just time them really well? I swear the only thing Clowney did really exceptionally well last night was reject passes like Shaq in the paint. And Clowney called some of his teammates out, said they were scared.
