    THE GOOD
    1. Where has this team with fire and intensity come from? Welcome to the season, guys!

    2. A patched up and maligned offensive line without three starters and playing with two very green rookies, opened holes for the running backs and protected the quarterback. They controlled the line against a good Carolina defense.

    3. Jeremy Hill has arrived. I feel a lot better about the loss of Blue with Hill now in the mix. All the backs played well and LSU had fresh legs in the 4th quarter when Carolina was sagging.

    4. Dworaczyk is healthier and played Clowney well all night. The All-American DE really didn't accomplish anything.

    5. The defense just stuffed a good Carolina running game and an All-American running back. They controlled the line of scrimmage.

    6. Dropped passes were not an issue!

    7. Three straight possessions for scores in the 4th quarter. Hill outran three defenders. Clowney was clearly gassed. Carolina ran out of energy and LSU did not.

    THE BAD
    1. Wing lacks focus this year. Two shanked punts, one for 9 yards, and then a line drive straight to a dangerous returner he wasn't supposed to kick to. Keene was booming them high and long in the pre-game workouts. Just sayin' . . .

    2. Alex Hurst's absence from the game. It's a pity, the guy could play. But his replacement has stepped up and might make it difficult for him to regain his starter job. He owes it to his teamates not to quit them. Les' post game comments hint that we won't be seeing him much anymore, if at all.

    THE UGLY
    1. No passing touchdowns and one costly interception leading to a Carolina score. Worst passing offense in the SEC. Badly thrown passes to open receivers. Mettenberger must improve immediately or we will not likely win the next stretch of games.

Finaly our WR's worked to get open and catch good balls, Mett air mails 3 easy TD's.

Got to get on the same page.

Pretty dead on Red. I do like how the O Line played very well and the 2 freshmen on the right plowed the SC left all night and as you said Josh D handled Clowney pretty well he had little impact.
One other very good was Sam and the D Line. While they have played well all year they stuffed SC, limited Lattimore to 34 yds and harrassed Shaw All night.
I like to say this TOP LSU 37 minutes USCe 23 minutes. Domination by both lines!

Given how the positives outweigh the negatives, LSU is on the right track. Somehow gotta clean up the red zone woes, and look for a more confident and efficient Mett week-to-week.

“All I can tell you is he wasn’t here and we wish him the very best,” LSU coach Les Miles said without indicating why Hurst was absent. “He will be sidelined for some time.”

Dworaczyk played well and did a great job against a future top 5 NFL draft pick.

The guy has taken a shitload of heat, some of it from me so I have to give him a big attaboy for last night.

Me too! I'll give Josh D. a kudo AND a plaudit and an apology for previous doubts. Also a kudo to Trai Turner in his first start. Trai can play. I hope CLM leaves the O-line just the way it was last night. They worked pretty well together.

The time of possession differential was the key to the game. If we can do that going forward, we "can" win out. Will we? It's too early to tell.

But THAT is what killed us against Florida.
