Two opinions about where we'll go bowling. Intersting that both put Alabama in the Sugar, I don't see that happening. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowlprojection?season=2008&week=9
I would settle for Cap One or Chick-Fil-A (if that is what it is still called today). Easy drive for me. When I went to Orlando in '04 had a blast on New Years Eve...just made it really difficult to tailgate with no sleep since it is an early game.
Cap one sounds good. That's about a 2.5 mile trip for me and based on those projections I don't think I could stomach watching Oklahoma throw on us all day.
That assumes that bama doesn't lose to LSU, MSU, or Auburn. And assumes they either beat Georgia or Florida in the SECC. I have to think that if bama loses the SECC, they will be lower ranked than another SEC team, even if the SEC winner goes to the NCG. This is a convoluted bowl picture right now. We could have really helped the prognosticators by just beating Florida and Georgia.
I'm officially rooting for Georgia to go to the title game against Penn State...thats what I want to see if we cant make it there
Georgia isn't national champion material. I see Florida destroying them. If LSU put up 500 yards and 38 points with out a QB what is the Florida offense going to put up on them?
I'd be really concerned about how we'd match-up with OU. Minnesota, not so much. On the other hand, I can easily go to the Cotton Bowl...
well, i not saying it's gonna happen, but it's what i want to see. side note:...what the hell PapaJohns.com (Big East vs. SEC) South Florida vs. Louisiana-Lafayette Pittsburgh vs. Kentucky
Although we Hawkeyes have not played in a Championship game... and it appears we have no plans to be there this year either... history says we will play LSU in the Outback Bowl. The "history" of which I speak is we have played the national champ in a bowl either the year before they won the BCS Championship or the year following every year since 2002, except for USC in 2004 (who we had played in the Orange Bowl in 2002). We played tOSU the year after, you guys the year after you won, Florida, the year prior, Texas the year after, etc... so.... you're up!!!! We have this little issue with Penn State coming up, but we have them at home and we have been JoePa's thorn the past 8 years. So... a long way to go.... but history says......
