The news of UM beating Florida is huge for LSU's mental mindset for this game. Trust me, if our players don't know about it already, our coaches will tell them about it the next chance they get.

Did you read the rest of the post??? BTW you're comparing apples and oranges...Preparation for the Capital One Bowl (exhibition game) is not the same for the NCG (relevant game), so they don't have to take anything from that game...The focus is OSU, not Michigan, not Florida, not USC and not Illinois...It doesn't matter what they do, all it matters is what LSU does, what OSU has done and what other teams have done against OSU to find their weakenesses.

If LSU plays as well as they can play, I think it can still be a battle, but LSU wins

On ESPN, wasn't America's vote around 91% in favor of Florida? That's poison for any team:dis:
I do agree the Michigan loss plays a significant role in correcting/adjusting the mindset of the LSU team. They have to know they will be facing the team that beat Michigan. I am sure Miles WILL BE reminding them tomorrow about this.

True. But hope the Tigers realize that Michigan played with inspiration and intensity, when NO ONE expected to win against Florida. A big part of the game is mental, as was shown today. They should expect the same from Ohio St. and be mentally prepared; the Tigers should know they HAVE to bring their "A" game to earn the win.

If LSU plays as well as it is capable, I still think it can be a battle; but LSU wins:D

I just don't think they need Michigan beating UF for them to know that...If they do, I think we're in trouble.

Great post. In college football, you are talking about 18 to 22 year old kids. Psychology, mental mindset, etc, is HUGE in college football. That's why I love it. And that's why a coach who is a great motivator, great at the psychology and mental mindset of 18 to 22 year old kids, is a great college football coach. Examples are Les Miles and Lou Holtz (back when he was young, he was a great coach).

Sure, you can call Miles and Holtz absolute moron idiots, and sure, Holtz was terrible during his shot as an NFL coach. But look at Charlie "NFL Genius" Weis. The guy has no idea what he is doing in college football, because he doesn't get the mental mindset of 18 to 22 year old kids (who may or may not ever get a chance to go Pro). It's not surprising with Weis -- the guy never played college football (which is hard to believe, being that Weis is such a fine physical specimen of athletic prowess).

Oh, and just to make this clear:

It's not like Florida out-played Michigan, but Michigan got lucky and won. Florida had 401 yards, Michigan had 543. Michigan had 79 penalty yards, Florida had 49. Michigan stuffed Florida on 3rd down, holding the Gators to a 2 for 11 third down efficiency, while Michigan was 10 for 14 for their third down efficiency.

But most telling is this: Michigan had 4 fumbles (2 lost), Florida had zero. Michigan threw 2 interceptions, Florida didn't throw any. In other words, Michigan turned the ball over 4 times, Florida turned it over zero times.

Seriously, Florida got dominated by Michigan.

I will say it again! I really felt sorry for my Gator friends today and that doesn't happen often but they were hurting after the game!

Then we had some michigan fans really get nasty to me because of my LSU stuff and that went over like a fart in church! Just a bad day for them in all!
