I am making the trip from California to Dallas to see the LSU / Miami game in Dallas. Will be flying In to Dallas and driving with my father in law over to get my 85 year old dad from Bossier City and heading back to Dallas Sunday morning early. Last game I saw was in Tiger Stadium against ole miss about 4 or 5 years ago. But my wife knows when LSU is playing and when and our plans are made around seeing the tigers. I don't have a feeling yet on this years team . The SEC West is going to be tough top to bottom. One thing I try to remember more as I get older is football is more than winning or losing. It is about the experience of being with family and sharing the love of our tigers and being a part of something bigger than yourself.. It all started for me at the age of 3 in 1964 when my dad and me and my brother would lay in front of the radio on Saturdays and listen to John Ferguson call LSU games. It is one of things we did as a family and win or lose we were right back on the floor next to the radio next week. Maybe 1 time a year the Tigers were on TV. When my dad would have an off week and LSU was at home he would take us down to a game in Tiger stadium. Usually one of the rent a win teams like Rice or U of Pacific . Me and my brother were in heaven and hearing the band play and the cheering of the crowd. It still gives me goosebumps. Heres looking forward to another year of living LSU Football and sharing the experience with the best fans in the world. Geaux Tigers
trying to bring back disco is a full time job. it keeps me busy but am excited football is back soon and I am going to dallas to see opening game.
The Tiger defense will make the difference and the offense will answer questions about them. First game though...they won't be clicking on all cylinders.
This post has hope, tradition, and passion. You're talking about things like family gatherings and youthful excitement. This is about a team and a sport that you love. Your post has enthusiasm about going to games to watch and cheer for the Tigers. It doesn't contain anything about impending doom or just being interested in W's and L's. It doesn't lay out all the reasons why this team will under perform, fall apart or how soon our current Coach will get fired. It's just about enjoying the experience and some of the things that are so great about College Football. Are you sure you're in the right place?
We all have hope and passion. Some of us like to break down the reasons why there will either be sunshine or gloom and doom.
Im in the right place. I just grew up with a high school football coach and a love for football. I didn't get the size, talent to play other than 7th grade. And I was half the size of everyone on the team. But that didn't ever deter my love for football and I spent hundreds of hours playing in our front yard and street growing up and never missed a game of my dads. I could throw the football better than our starting qb in high school but he weighed 75 pounds more and was 8 inches taller. So I worked as a football manager in high school and also in college where I paid for my education. If you ever want to appreciate the behind the scenes people spend a weekend with a college football manager home or away. 80 hours over 7 days a week. Maybe sometime I will go into what it takes to handle all the things we were expected to do. It didn't leave a whole lot of time to study. So minimal hours of school during fall and heavy spring load. To be honest internet boards during Les Miles last couple years was taking my want to just come and share the experience of my Love of all things LSU. I didn't even get to go to LSU but I have been a Tiger since 1964 and will die a Tiger . Life is in the journey and getting the most out of every single day. It is about family and friends and laughter and being there for one another... Me and my brother and dad no matter what was happening in our lives could always talk about LSU and keep that bond to this very day..
