The Michigan AD knew at the beginning of the season that Carr was planning to retire (see 1st link below). And the AD admits to "doing certain things" regarding a coaching search throughout this season. Carr retires on Monday and says that to have done it after a Michigan bowl game "would have been absolutely ridiculous" (2nd link). His timing was "based on one thing: what's best for Michigan." In other words, Carr (and presumably the AD) sees Michigan hiring a new coach ASAP, before Michigan's bowl game. Yet the AD says that he will not contact any coaches whose teams have games remaining (1st link). But that makes no sense (or is a lie) unless the AD plans to go after (1) a losing, non-bowl-bound coach whose regular season is already over or is soon to end or (2) a retired coach or (3) a fired coach. Otherwise Carr could have waited till after Michigan's bowl game to announce his retirement. Something doesn't add up. http://blog.mlive.com/wolverines_stories/2007/11/head_coach_search_immediately.html http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071119/SPORTS06/71119022/1123/SPORTS02
I thought we were banning people who started Miles to Michigan threads until Michigan hired their next head coach? My idea was genius, what the phuck happened?
I say for every Miles/Mich thread started, start a "fire the coach" thread. Sorry SF, no disrespect intended. :hihi:
He's hangin on by a thread (awesome pun, don't ya think?), but Kentucky has these huge ass scissors waiting fo dat ass on Saturday.
Or (5) they hoped it would be enough of a distraction to cause LSU to lose a game- thus expediting Miles to Michigan.
"You want to see if they've had DUI's, or they're a deadbeat paying their bills or if there's anything that could be a pattern that would embarrass Michigan," Martin said. Guess they won't be talking to O the Coach...Iowa going bowling this year?
THATS WHAT IM AFRAID OF. i could stand English on a 1 year interim job and see how he does, but Debord?....NO THANKS
