I wouldn't classify the events with Aranda a "fiasco". A rival school offered him a truckload of money to bolt. LSU offered him a bigger truckload of money to stay. No negative reflection on LSU that I can see. They did what they had to do to retain a top-level coach.
In my eyes losing Aranda would've been devastating for your program,.. but he stayed, looks like he turned down bigger money too,.. thats good on LSU.
I agree. This is one person you pony up for, and the admin. did, to their credit (finally, they get credit for something). I want Aranda here short term to lead our defense, and long-term as a possible HC if Oeaux doesn't pan out. IMO, it would have been devastating, as you correctly point out, if he left. Whoever that knucklehead from Wisconsin who came on here to warn us that Aranda was overrated couldn't have been more wrong, IMO. I think he has become a key piece to the future of LSU football. Now, the guy from Oregon was spot on about Crowton, but that's another story, LOL.
