That actually goes back to DiNardo, who came in talking about "building a wall around the state." Then Saban followed him talking about the state being a hidden goldmine (though I don't think those were his exact words) of talent. That was all good for where we were at the time, but if we are going to truly be a national powerhouse, we have to go beyond that. I get sucked into the idea that every top LA player has to come to LSU too, and that would be great. But it won't have us competing for a national title very often. It may be Bama's template, but Clemson hasn't gotten where it is solely on South Carolina talent. Ditto tOSU and the state of Ohio.

The offense that we ran most of the year was pretty unusual. If it was restrained by O, the full offense must have been written in 40th century Martian hieroglyphics.

Canada said he works his offense around the personnel he has and lets face it, ours was limited this year. I don't think we saw all he can do. We kept hearing there were more tricks up his sleeve that didn't seem to materialize. We know he was restricted in the early games until the full on restriction in the first half of the Troy game. I think he should have been given more time but they butted heads too much I guess.

I agree, I think he was limited by personnel, not Eaux (except maybe vs Troy). I still can’t imagine the reason he’s rumored gone is anything other than off-the-field because the offense showed promise (also looked much better than what we saw vs ND).

You’re a good poster. Happy New Year!

I think if it had to do with o and his relatability to the staff, aranda probably would taken the faggie job but he chose to stay... Canada is the only one leaving and he hasn't been offered another job by anyone looking to poach a coach...

Aranda has a totally different persona. I am sure the personality clash was due to both of them. Speaking from experience, there are just some people you cant get along with

I’m for Coach O but his stock is in play. My impression is it has dropped some. Time to right the ship.

    Interesting,

Has he been fired? I haven't read anything saying so, so what is really going on? NFL will have lots of openings but is he on anyone's radar there? So if he hasn't been fired is he then in effect quitting? All this talk, because I don't even see smoke at this point, what in the hell is really going on?
