That's beside the point. Lot's of jobs have the same relative importance to the business that hires them as a football coach has. Aren't you in a position to hire people at your company? Have you ever made a bad hire?
I know less than Schultz, but I throw this out for the sake of speculation. It is well known that Orgeron basically backed into the job. It came down to either him or the guy from Brusly High, and, in a squeaker, O was picked. But, he did not come in from a position of strength. Then, his choice for OC, Kiffen, accepts the HC position, which means LSU is once again scrambling to find a coach. Alleva, believing that, after Miles, LSU needed a high-octane offense, looks around and finds Canada. He then proceeds to pressure O to hire Canada. O, being in a very weak position, agrees. I just find it hard to believe that Orgeron would pick Canada completely on his own. Canada does not run an offense that O likes, and Canada has a troubled work history. O is still pissed that Alleva interjected himself after the Troy debacle and is now in a stronger position, and he has basically told Alleva to stick it. This doesn’t excuse what happened, just offers an alternative hypothesis.
Yes but not more detailed than when hiring a corporate CEO or maybe a law school grad at a big law firm just to give a couple of examples. Of course the vetting to get into the FBI or CIA would be a hell of a lot more stringent than a football hire.
I don't know how old you are, but you haven't given a shit about many games. You give new meaning to the term casual fan.
I’m not nor did I ever say to ditch Canada. It sounds like that boat has sailed. I frankly would love for him to be here still but at the same time his offense didn’t set the world on fire. So we move on. Agree with you about the leak. I don’t think that was an Orgeron thing though.
