This makes it all that more distasteful that Pomansky, or whoever leaked out the demise of Canada in an effort to actually force him out.

...and right before the bowl game at that. What a distraction despite Orgeron's statements about team solidarity in focusing on the game.

    Bullshit

This sounds like it’s happening (what a shit show if Canada resurrects like Miles did). The argument that this is about Eaux’s ego doesn’t make much sense, especially with Canada’s propensity to make like a tree and leaf. It has to be about more, like speaking out of turn with recruits and not landing a single swinging jimmy to play QB.

O needs to stop worrying about the offense and let them do there job . I’m sure Saban and Kiffin weren’t best of friends but Saban was smart enough to let Kiffin control the offense. Next season is not the one to implement a new offense with Miami , Florida , Alabama , Auburn, Georiga and A&M on tap . O might just work his way out of a job after next year and take Alleva with him.

Regardless, LSU is rapidly becoming the coaching "drama queen" of football. And that, friends, ain't all that shit hot!

I think we were recruiting this year to fill needs. Don’t we already have signed RBs and WRs? We concentrated on the lines. No QB but there really wasn’t one available to us. I don’t think you can blame Canada this year for recruiting.

Without any inside knowledge, to me, this simply seems to be about philosophy and fit. I think Oeaux just doesn’t believe in all of the shifts, etc, that Canada’s offense brings. To bad he didn’t recognize that prior to hiring him. I think he just had a different perception of what Canada would do here, and became disenchanted with his philosophy as he became more intimately aware of it.

To me, it was different with CLM. He had what 4 or 5 OCs, and wanted to be the ultimate decision maker at the moment of play calling. His meddling impacted the strategy that week, but more problematic was his micromanaging during the game. Oeaux is getting bashed for the Troy game, but I don’t think he’s micromanaging or meddling nearly like Miles did. He just simply wants a different philosophy that fits with what he perceives is best for the team.

I’m personally fine with that. It’s his team right now and his vision. Change always draws scrutiny, but I think most on this thread are overreacting emotionally. Need to let it play out. If Oeaux flails over a 3 year window, he’s gone, no matter what OC decision he makes.

If it’s simply “fit” then that’s a pretty big oversight for a CEO coach. I’m not up in arms about the money, but I also don’t love it. I don’t see this as a rational move without behind the scenes drama, and it really seems like there is some of that. But I think overall has done a good job this year, that being more contingent on OC and bowl results now than it’dve been if Canada were staying.

We were filling needs, but it sure doesn’t look like high marks for Canada on the recruiting front. Missing on QB really stinks considering our history w QB.

Just like in the real job world, sometimes you don’t realize what you have until you actually experience that person/attitude/philosophy. After losing LK, I think Oeaux was trying to hire the seeming next best available, and probably wanted to make a splash, too, being a new HC and being questioned a lot. We all make hiring mistakes. Probably just wants to cut bait and move on.

From the RossD article, it almost sounds like the plan is for co-OCs. Anyone else gleaning that? It sounds like Ensminger and Canada will share duties, unless I’m reading that wrong.
