Pretty damn discouraging watching the New Years games and hearing "perfect pass" and "great throw." Over and over again! Of course that might be while they are playing today!
So, opt for the less talented guy over the more talented because the less talented dude knows the plays better. The opposite occurred on the defense with Welter and Beckwith. One of those two squads improved as the season progressed, the other sucked a fat man's ass to the end.
I'm not comparing the positions, only the situation. Beckwith stunk vs AU, so did Harris. Beckwith played better vs UF, not lights out, but better. He improved with experience. Harris got a big fuck you for his one start against a ranked SEC team on the road and was never given the same opportunity to demonstrate improvement, with the coaching staff knowing they had no confidence in AJJ. Then the ultimate go fuck yourself to Harris was the AR game. I don't buy this he couldn't beat him out in practice bullshit; that's giving too much credit to coaches who've demonstrated incompetence on the offensive side of the ball this entire season.
