This is a thread specifically about QBs and the coaching. Not OBJ, Landry, etc. The OP did not give us any credit for coaching Mett, which I disagree with but I let it slide. So you think we have talent at QB that has not been coached up. I disagree.
Yep, but thinking Miles puts worse players on the field because he is hard headed and does not mind losing in order to show the fans who is boss is a much more logical argument. Yeah. Right.
lee was undefeated never to be seen again. no one in their right mind thinks jefferson was our best qb during his tenure much less the better passer. its simply a repeat of what les knows. play the runner in a passing offense. sit the passer. the fact you think the qb on the bench is worse is about as funny as the announcers saying who our best catching tight end was today. we dont even have a leading receiver so to speak because we have no passing game. again. how the hell would they know who our best receiving tight end would be. we dont even know. same with qb. except that the one with talent is on the fucking bench.
I know, because I have seen it, that we have a guy on the bench who throws worlds better than Jennings and it's not even close. Now you make of that what you will but I'm not the only one. So you tell me where the breakdown is?
Lee was on the bench because he deserved to be on the bench. That is my opinion. Maybe he did not go to class like he should (winter class?). Maybe he did not do what was needed in practice. Maybe he was a head case. We can re-hash this one like is was re-hashed way back in the day if you like, but you can't just throw it out there like it was a slam dunk that the ONLY reason Lee was on the bench was because he was a passer and Les don't like passers. That is just stupid. The "fact" that you think that the QB on the bench is better than the one on the field is laughable. You are a fan. Period. You have no ideas about the facts. You can have as many opinions as you want, but don't throw the word fact out there when it comes to who should play and who should not. Talent does not equal playing time.
I think Harris is an athlete not a quarterback. If he can't beat out Jennings that's a huge red flag in my opinion. It's not the same Lee Jefferson situation because one was a runner and one was a pocket guy. Les obviously likes the running guy and Harris is bigger, stronger, faster than Jennings, he throws a better ball and it goes further. So why would Les and Cameron not play Harris. It's simple he has no grasp on the offense and frankly that's sad. I agree with the Braxton Miller comment, I'd be a courtin.
i said the better passer. that is a fact. i am a better passer opposite handed after a 12 pack than jennings. if i gave jennings a fistful of 100 dollar bills and sent him to the state fair, he couldnt sink the asshole clown before sun down. and if you want to believe harris is skipping class, hanging out with j lee and perrilloux and thats part of it, thats fine. i tend to believe what history says is going to keep happening. and i said how it would play out before we knew anything about the backup last year in the iowa crap bowl with jennings as our jeffersonv2.0 starter. and it did. exactly. harris aint sniffing the field unless this dc shakeup spooks les.
of course he doesnt have a good grasp of the offense. he doesnt freaking play. les plays the safest guy preferably non-passer. jennings can run the offense better by handing off safely. its that simple. les made his decision a year ago and we are going down the wormhole with this horrible passer. brian kelly would have beaten us today with a month to prepare with harris. how do i know this? bc he did it with a less talented guy today as his backup. with only a month to prepare. sec speed is too much for a freshman qb, much less a first time starter. in a bowl game nonetheless. or not.
