That's wishful thinking IMO. Today's Louisiana recruits have fond memories of that other school across town whose colors are blue and gold. LSU is still considered the white man's university. We are no more special in these kids eyes than the Miami's, FSU's, and USC's of the world. Why do you think it has historically been a struggle to keep kids home?
LSU needs to make sure the kids of Louisiana come to the games. My first LSU game as a kid sealed me as an LSU fan for life. I dont blame them for taking their visits to other schools. Go and enjoy but come signing time they need to be Tigers. I grew up in Shreveport / Bossier and i can remember as a boy when Joe Ferguson went to Arkansas and played. It was like he committed treason and was blasted for not going to LSU. For some reason LSU doesnt recruit the Shreveport / NW Area very well. I never understood that because their are alot of LSU fans there. And alot of football talent.
