The cause is Race. If you don't make things about race then you are not down with the cause. RG3 doesn't want to be defined by the color of his skin, he wants to be defined by his work ethic and actions. RG3 was also accused of being a Republican, like that is a bad thing. Racism will dissappear when everyone thinks like RG3, not Rob Parker. Rob Parker promotes racism.
What I don get is why Rob Parker would openly trash the guy. Why? Because his views are different than yours? I know racism is alive & well, but you would think people in the public light would be smart enough to look at someone like RG3 and say hey, his views are different than mine, but he is still just a "good dude". This is a situation where I think people take racism to a different level and look for "cause". If your "cause" is so great, why not reach out to the guy in a respectful way.
Because he ani't down with the cause. But I think really that Parker is a columnist and a talk show guy and he has to have a loud opinion so people will talk about him. Now Parker is the front man for this cause and it flames his ego.
RGIII's skill and potential are undeniable. The fact that he is black is undeniable. When the one can be celebrated without the other being noticed, we will have reached the day when "the cause" has been achieved. RGIII is moving us towards that day. Parker is a roadblock.
