I'll agree here it worked for us positively tonight... but what happens if he ends up injured or he's too gassed to be at his best in the second half of our games when we get to the heart of conference play? He's all we have in our secondary we can't afford to lose him.
Well I think if the offense can keep the defense off the field for longer periods of time he can manage it just fine.
Okay, we can't have it both ways. Miles is often crucified for taking out guys with the "hot hand" at the moment. Peterson was the man with the hot hand tonight on returns. Do we want Miles to stick with the best return man or conserve his energy? I realize that Miles cannot win in this scenario (and for the record, I feel like the coaches let us down tonight.)
I think Shepard showed he can run, why not try him at punt returns... hell Herby himself stated how much Shep was as explosive as harvin was. He needs to be the one seeing constant field time.
Why try to ruin a good thing? I'm not against letting shep see some time on returning punts, but why try to take away one of the best things we have going for us right now?
Well, for one thing, aside from what the previous poster pointed out, I'm not sure he has the best hands for it at the moment.
