The "coach" won't appreciate your lack of understanding of his analysis.

If you're gonna continue with this dead horse drivel, I want you to post video evidence of this 8-9 in the box of which you speak. I didn't see it last year, and I believe it's one of the biggest BS myths going around. Show me.

Bottom line, OL wasn't up to par. Period.

    to answer the original question...

Can LSU Run Against UNC's Defense?

i'd say there's a much better chance now that the answer is yes.

    Thank you.

Take what the defense gives you.

Yea, but did the passing game suck (in part) because the defenses didnt respect our running game? Or did the running game suck because the defenses didnt respect the passing game?

Last year I would say both. Everything works in tandem. QB looks bad because the running game isn't there, RB's look bad because the oline can't open holes, oline looks bad because the QB holds the ball too long, etc... This team has the talent. They need to get some confidence and momentum. Look to the coaches to find a way to do that.

With a young QB, and an inconstant offense, Crowton tried to simplify the offense last year and use high percentage and safe plays. The idea is this takes pressure off the QB. Run the ball on 1st and 2nd down. Keep the down and distance manageable, get short completions, move the chains and build offensive confidence. Then slowly add more wrinkles. This is a common approach to getting struggling offenses back on track.

The problem is it doesn't work. Or at least didn't work in this case. JJ's percentages were very respectable but that did not translate into overall offensive success. I'd like to see Crowton's "Wizard" side come out to break the funk rather then regress back to vanilla football this season.

Absolutely agree on what happened last year and that we need to establish momemtum early in this game. The players need to believe. And God knows that us fans need to see offensive life throughout 4 quarters.

Not sure if it starts with running the ball or if the pass opens up the run. I'll leave that up to the coaches who know more than me. They just better be right!:geaux:
