this could be key in the game. Demps and Rainey possess breakaway speed and Coleman can run pretty fast. I think if Coleman can keep these two from getting to the outside, we can contain there running game.
ive been saying this for a while now, this game defensively rests on the shoulders of the LSU linebackers. Not only Coleman, Riley, Sheppard, Cutrera, Baker, anyone who plays at the linebacker spot outside and middle, is going to have to bring their A game. Can they contain them, YES. Will they, I sure as hell hope so. I was extremely pleased with their play last week, they improved vastly especially tackling.
If you can get to them before they get 2-3 yds off the line of scrimmage those little guys can be brought down. The trick for them is getting into open space, and they don't seem nearly as capable of doing that yet as Percy Harvin was.
We have to keep them contained with the LB's and funnel them toward the middle. None of them are power backs, they couldn't run over my cat but get them outside in space and watch out. At least if Brantley plays we don't have to be overly concerned with the Tebow power inside rush so we can commit more to sliding outside to turn them in. Tebow has always been the key.
Linebackers have to play with extreme discipline Saturday night. That will be the key, plus wrapping up EVERY single tackle.
