I'm not saying an undefeated SEC team WILL get left out. I'm saying that if you think it's impossible, you're mistaken. As we've seen the last couple years, stranger things have happened...i.e. - We're 7-0 with the worst offense I can remember in a long time... We won a championship with 2-losses and some help from the football gods.. Auburn got left out of the dance with a 14-0 season... etc, etc, etc... The West looks good this year, and the east bleauxs... the SECCG doesn't mean much if the west contender demolishes a tired 3-4 loss team from the East to win it. So at the end of the year, you could possibly end up with Oregon, Oklahoma, TCU, Boise State, and SEC Champ undefeated... I mean think about it... Florida could win out and go to Atlanta, having just lost 3 in a row and 2 of those were in their back yard. Thank goodness we've got some strong teams here in the West to take up the slack. All that said, I'm with you. I'd be pissed if the SEC were left out with an undefeated conference champ. But nothing surprises me anymore in this sport.
This sounds eerily familiar to the way people were talking about the East and Tennessee versus the West and LSU in 2001...
One loss LSU is out. Not much love/respect going around right now. Seems like the talking heads just waiting to count us out. Wouldnt suprise me if a loss this weekend drops us significantly in polls. Would computer rankings do anything to keep that drop from being "excessive"?
Yep...I never would have thunk it either. I looked at 3 loses in the beginning of the season, one being to Florida. Plus we always seem to win won we shouldn't and lose one we shouldn't. I'd hope those are not coming down but I don't see us beating Bama. Auburn should be a win if played right but I see either Arkansas or Ole Miss being a problem.
