All that motion does have a purpose. For the first time in years Bama couldn't load 8 and 9 un the box and the running game was more effective than Les's.
I said maybe a new OC would be brought in to use Brennan and Narcisse's skills. My whole point is if Canada should leave another OC's scheme will not destroy our recruiting and might even enhance it.
Why on earth would anyone want to see a new OC when LSU has progressed more under this one than the last 4 combined? I don't give a shit if Canada steals Orgeron's donuts every day and takes the last cup of coffee and doesn't make a new pot. He needs to stay.
The feuding doesn’t bother me too much; Canada has no problem throwing elbows, I’m glad Eaux can as well.
So you think O has told him to look for another gig? If that is so why did he bring him here in the first place? This is what would bother me with the O hire, the instability he carries with him. If he is changing offense like shirts to find the right guy it will never grow into anything. I always liked the guy from the N.O. area high school (forget his name, but he was successful) who said he had five plays in his book but he ran those five better than the defense could stop it. Now I know we need more than five in the SEC, but Canada has put in enough to start giving us a base to work off of and become proficient. Canada has been better with a limited QB than anyone else has in a decade.
Canada actively pursued a head job last year, but if he doesn't land a bigger gig he might take a pay cut. The job he went for last year ended up going for 1.2 million a year which is 300k less than what he makes now. Not sure if a radio show would make up that difference, but maybe Canada has been up front that he's gonna chase a head job every year hence the comments. We really do not know. I thought it was an endorsement without campaigning for him to get a job like Saban did last year for Kiffin so Kiffin couldn't come here. Also, I think Ed wants to run a pro style like what USC ran and he DID have Kiffin coming until he got the FAU job. I don't know if Canada was his first choice but it was a hot name and a good one. Perhaps they both get what they want -- Matt gets a gig and Ed can take his time to find the right OC for his wants. More than OC I am worried about the QB coach. We really need to develop QBs.
I’m gonna go ahead and say it...anyone on this board that thinks we should get a new OC or is not concerned about Canada leaving needs to have their head examined. The offense he fielded this year is just a precursor to what he can do with the right talent. He had to work within limits of the offense.
