LSU tends to struggle with teams that have smart QB's. Our defense will definitely be put to the test this week. Just at first glance, they seem like a more talented, more athletic West Virginia. I bet Kelvin Sheppard or someone will be spying Cam Newton the entire game and the rest of our defense is top notch. It will definitely be a clash of the titans. What I'm scared about is playing on the road...in the daytime at Auburn. But this team did win at Florida at night. This seems like a different team from the past few years. Finally given me the confidence that LSU can win all our big games...because we have so far. Should be good!
I say keep Loston in the game to cover Newton. The rest of the D can carry on as usual. I'd say Peterson, but Reid, or Loston "Ronnie Lotting" Newton a few times will bring him back to reality.
Three times this year, Auburn has won by 3 points. 65 points yesterday...game was STILL close. They are beatable. One major issue for LSU. Start the right guy, and we have a chance.
What is TOP against SEC opponents? Altho that may be misleading since we play slowly, fewer plays/minute than most (actually almost everyone) Avg plays/game = 67 / 64 for AUB / LSU. Plays / minute = 2.4 / 2.1 TOP, mins / game = 28.05 / 30.41 mins/game
True! Say what you want about him, Cam is one player; glue our guys onto his butt and harry him all day...ALL DAY.
