Guess you got the story about the QB that forgot the play when Cam called it? Step aside, move over. He wants the QB to know the plays and be able to run the called play and set. Every QB has to know the offense and make the throws. Cam has pulled up every detail with the QB's. The hand offs, steps take for a certain pass. Making reads. Too much good can come from this. I did like what I saw from Rivers in the Spring game, he was also 7-10 in passing. I know Cam has sped up the offense in practice, this should slow things down, in game.

I tend to think that our offensive staff just didn't know how. Nobody, from Miles down, has big-time OC experience. Without a body like Cam in the booth or on the sidelines, there was nobody that could truly exploit an evolving defense. It seemed like they picked plays the same way I do on NCAA Football. "OOOH, this looks good..."

Melvin was one of a few guys experimented at fullback. Kendall Beckwith was another. THey are throwing all kinds of guys at different positions. More than I have seen in a long time.

Thats because we have so many places we can plug in players. If you look at Fullback, Copeland's gone and so is Neighbor's. Both Jones and Beckwith can play a number of positions on both sides of the ball.

It looks like Cam is gonna run much of the same offense from last year. Nothing to see here.......

I agree with this. I don't see much in the way of new to our offense. I hope the difference us execution and play selection based on the defense. I think Cam has a leg up on both Miles and Stud in this category. But I expect our offense to look really familiar.

There has been nothing wrong with the offensive concept. Every team that has had success has led with a power running game and had the capability and flexibility to pass when the time is right.
The problem has been the ability to adapt to the requirements during the game and the apparent lack of both a strategic and tactical plan in calling plays. It seems we could have been using a dart board to call plays and not been building on success or adjusting to challenges. Where this came from means nothing if Cam brings success.
I will judge his work on the way he sets a game plan, adjusts to the situation and call play within the flow of the game. A new offense (engine) isn't the lack a new driver is. Hopefully Cam will be that driver.
