I know. I like to challenge them so that they realize the inaccuracy of their assertions.

Dude, I feel ya. But honestly, check out some other boards. This place is a ray of sunshine comparatively speaking.

Yet teams like Baylor, TCU, Clemson either don't break the top 10 or barely do year after year and have better seasons than LSU.

Recruiting is the only thing keeping Les from being a perennial cellar dweller in the SEC West. And like people mentioned already, boy he can recruit db's and running backs, receivers and O linemen that don't seem to look all that great until they get to the NFL.... He doesn't do very well with linebackers, or quarterbacks, and hasn't done very well in the past 3 or 4 years with DT's either. We have gotten a few, but LSU used to be a DT school. We still get them but it seems like we have had 2 really good DT's at the same time since Logan and Brockers.

All true. I blame the DT situation more on Chavis' preference for small and light D than I do Les.

My only real concern from a recruiting perspective is that inability to get a great QB and then develop him. I definitely have concerns about the offensive scheme that seems to manifest regardless of who the OC is, but I have very few quibbles with the recruiting.

I think most of us are just really frustrated with Top 10 and Top 5 recruiting classes year after year, and then a 3 loss season.

We're frustrated with all the 4 star talent we bring in, on both sides of the ball and a super conservative/ lack luster offense that can't win the big games. We start each season 5, 6 and sometimes 7-0, and get in the thick of things, only to fall apart late in the season. We're tired of being 2nd fiddle to 'Bama, and I think most people have lost faith that Miles can get us back in the real hunt for a National Championship.

I mean, look at the last 4 recruiting classes:
    #6 in 2013
    #2 in 2014
    #6 in 2015
    #3 in 2016

Our expectations SHOULD be 11 regular season wins and a coin-toss game with 'Bama to decide who wins the division. We've out-recruited everyone else in the SEC over the last 4 classes, except them.

    This should be OUR YEAR.....

But we're negative because we've believed this before. Several times. Only to be really disappointed time and time again.

We've had leads on them in the 4th quarter and couldn't pull it out. And we've lost to frikkin Arkansas who hasn't sniffed a Top 10 recruiting class... ever!

I still have concerns at QB, but I'm not sure the LB situation is as dire as everyone here is saying. Losing Fowler was a kick in the nuts, but there are a number of guys in this class that will get a look at LB, and I think may surprise people.

    The Obvious:
    Michael Divinity (OLB) - 6'2", 218
    Layton Garnett (ILB) - 6'3", 250

    The Hopeful:
    Sci Martin (WDE) - 6'4", 230

    The Maybe:
    Rahssan Thornton (WDE) - 6'3", 225
    Andre Anthony (WDE) - 6'3", 214
    Devin White (RB) - 6'0", 258

I guarantee at least one of those DEs will end up at LB, and probably Devin White, too.

I have no excuses for QB. Maybe Scott surprises me, but 5'11" is 5'11", no matter what. And I'm not sure next year is going to be any better.

You know we don't have an offer on any of the top 15pro style qb's for 2017? Clemson has 2 commitments, the number 1 prostyle and number 13 prostyle. We have nothing. I'm checking dual threat now.

Lowell Narcisse is the number 3 dual threat, it doesn't say we offered him but I'm sure we will. Again square peg round hole.

Les Miles wouldn't know what a quarterback was if it slapped him in the face.

    You're on the right track....

Now throw in Beckwith, Alexander, Riley, Voorhies and probably Arden Key, and the coaches will make it work. Thornton is listed as a LB on the LSU roster.

You may as well scratch Riley, Alexander, and Voorhies. Those dudes are special teamers at best.

Hold on let me rephrase for the people who want more positivity.

It's going to be hard to get Riley, Alexander, and Voorhies to split time as linebackers because of their stellar special teams abilities.
