Guys, I know lacrosse is not much understood down in LA, but to get a LAX scholarship to MD is huge, and in the B-more area, LAX is king. I don't think the kid "settled" for a LAX scholarship. To forego LAX at UMd for football at LSU is a great statement. Don't sell this one short. There will be many in his home state thinking the kid lost his mind to play football, ANYWHERE, over LAX at UMd.
The thought crossed my mind: It could be argued David Cutcliffe has had as much success developing QB's in the SEC as anyone the last few decades. Or, is the credit there going to be given to the father of the Manning's?
Eli and Peyton did well in college and they were the two that came to mind. Tee Martin led UT to a BCSNC. Heath Shuler was pretty good when Cut was just a QB coach in Knoxville. Brady Quinn had a good year when Cut was at Notre Dame.
I have not read every single post and I am do not like Saban either, but with that said its kind of hard to tell a 4 NC coach that he does not know what he is doing. The guy can flat out coach and weather he wins with white or black QBs he still wins. I don't think the guy is stupid enough to risk reputation and money over bigoted ideas of not playing a black qb. If Saban had a black qb that could beat out McCarron he would have his two time National Champion QB riding the pine. It takes 22 guys + reserves to make up a team and win. Sure the qb is a big part of the equation but only a part....
