Cam Cameron got an EXTRA CLOSE look at this kid, Jake Clise.... Cam's son went to the same high school as Clise, and Clise beat out Cam's son for the starting QB job:

    BaltimoreRavens.com:
"(Ravens) Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron’s son...Danny, 16, is a soon-to-be junior at Loyola-Blakefield High School. He plays quarterback, but for now he’s stuck behind a teammate named Jake Clise, who is a possible Division I prospect. So Danny will likely play safety for another year"

Yeah but what I meant was having to settle for a Lacrosse scholly and not having football offers- at least legit ones.

That was more along the lines of what I was seeing.

If Saban were the one bringing him I wouldn't be as worried. Miles has recruited better BUT when it comes to quarterbacks it should be against the law to speak about him and Saban in the same breath when talking about QB's, sorry.

Da fuck is all that hubla?

Dude, this is nothing to do with recruiting service rankings. The player in question is a Lacrosse player who had no offers worth taking; DESPITE him wanting to play football over lacrosse. Red flag in my boo- which was the crux of my post.

LMAO at you throwing Flynn up there. Flynn was the offensive MVP of a National Championship game. When Miles lost Saban's last QB he lost a lot. If Miles can manage one "Flynn" he has at least another National Championship.

And what about Mauck? Let's see, that's 2 National Championship QB's for Saban. Miles has been here twice as long- how many National winning QB's has he signed for us?

Red, I looked at all the players on the most up to date roster, I was counting last night. I think 82 was the number, will look again. The thing that gets you is the Kickers, I don't know if anyone is on, other than Keehn. We signed 27 players this year, still looking for who shows up. Remember we had 2 JC players ( Fanaika and Stokes), we should know soon. I was talking with a coach from another school, his players are showing up for Summer workouts tomorrow.

Where do I start with this one? First, if Cam wants a player at QB, I'd trust him over just about any OC in college right now. I know many like the star system, but as most can see, a well trained staff knows more about players. It has been said by many that following this star system has lead to the downfall on UT, yes Texas. Since 2007, they have had 1 (One) OL drafted into the NFL. They get the pick of the state of Tx, around 400 players every year??? I have a friend thats a UT grad and a coach, he too thinks UT spends too much time looking for stars, rather they should be looking for players. Since losing the National Title game in 2010, UT is 22-16 overall and 11-15 in the Big 12. This is one of the reasons Mack is on the hot seat, look into most Football Preview magazines.
Last year UT went into DeSoto High school and signed a player that was said by many to be one of the best CB in Texas, LSU signed the other CB on that same DeSoto team. The UT player took a Red-Shirt, the player LSU signed, he finished 4th on the team in tackles, that player Jalen Mills.
I look at a few things with Cam, his resume and I talk with other coaches, these two things tell me the guy knows football and QB's.
Matt Mauck's name was brought up. I remember when he was heading to LSU, some were saying, he'd be a backup, holding a clipboard, some had him playing WR, some had him at Safety. I know one thing, Cam set a ton of records with a QB named Randle El, once drafted, he was moved to WR in the Pro's. So Cam set a ton of records with a WR playing QB?

Remember this, in college, its more about player development and talent evaluations. Many are looking at who offered this QB. Who offered Mo Claiborne?

I say welcome to him, glad to have him as a TIGER.......

Well, I don't know about everybody else but this guy looks pretty good to me. Of course it's a highlight reel and he's 100%, but he can make all the throws and he's pretty athletic. I'm surprised he can't get a football scholarship offer. Must be more to this than meets the eye.

I know LSU wants to take one and maybe two QBs in this class and Deshone Kizer who LSU was recruiting committed to Notre Dame I think and Brandon Harris is not a sure thing so maybe this guy came along at the right time and the right place for both him and us.

Maybe there's something to all that. Who knows. I know that Mauck was a fluke. Can lightning strike twice?

    From DD: FYI...

The team has been busy with strength and conditioning drills this week, and as far as I know all of the incoming signees are taking part in the workouts except for Rashard Robinson (CB, 6'2", 165, Pompano Beach, FL) and Frank Herron (DE, 6'5", 235, Memphis, TN). Robinson is taking a couple of summer classes in order to bring up his GPA and is expected to report to LSU in time for fall camp, which is 53 days away. Herron's arrival has been delayed by the NCAA clearinghouse. Reports are that he is hopeful of being cleared any day now.

But totally irrelevant to this converstation.

Sure you did. You said Miles signed the only #1 ranked QB to ever sign here.

Alls I remember is Flynn sitting on his butt on the field after the game. On Perilloux, I'm not talking about a flash in the pan (like JJ for Bama). I'm talking about sustained consistency.

If he only made two that's great. Going back to A. Hatch/J. Lee, how many has Miles made?

You think he just up and came here? Saban sure did recruit him and it started before he came here.

How can I put this . . . Les has a diversity issue on his team, as do most Division I teams. 90% of his scholarship recruits are black. So LSU also recruits a lot of white athletes to be preferred walk-ons, who are 90% white.
