I find myself in a position that a lot of LSU fans are in. We support the team and i support Les Miles. But if you know football and i grew up with a high school football coach there are bad football decisions being made on our offense. The truth is our offensive co-ordinator is a fine man and jj is a great kid but neither of them are suited for the jobs they are in. I can give you examples over and over where the unwritten book of good football is broken by this offensive co-ordinator. On your own end with a struggling qb late in the game 2nd an 4 after a good run and you thow it incomplete twice and have to punt when a few first downs get us out of our own end. Calling the option play with a qb who doesnt understand the option. The option is not being run right and that is why anyone who knows football is so upset. If i was the opposing team defense i would love to see LSU run the option more because our qb never pitches. When he does it is too late for the rb to do anything, and it is a bad pitch 75% of the time. So i just key on the qb who is a deer in the headlights. I dont blame jefferson for this. I blame crowton and ultimately miles. I am stuck in between being loyal and supporting our team and coach and acknowledging bad football that is making these games closer than they should be. My advice to Coach Miles Coach: On offense: scrap the option if you insist on playing jefferson. qb draws if you want to run him or designed roll outs with 1 option and tuck and run. He is not a good decision maker and that simplifies it for him. run up the middle over and over and over with ridley and more screens from the flat on passing plays. Give jj a check down receiver in the flat if he cant go downfield and it will help him against blitzes. teams are stacking the box and 11 people within 10 yards of line of scrimmage. just to keep them honest throw deep not just once but at least twice a qtr. They dont respecvt our passing game and it is jamming our run. When someone does something like p peterson did which is selfish and can not be tolerated i dont care if he scores on every punt return he has. You get in his face and you dont talk nice in his ear. you embarrass the hell out of him and chew him out. you are not his friend but responsible to every other player you have . It is a team not one person. This is a symptom of why you are losing your fanbase. Give j lee a chance and see what he can do. what can it hurt. jj is not getting the job done and you have to see if jarret lee can get the job done. at least then you will know. I love loyalty but in the real world performance like this and the person will get fired. Substitution penalties at critical time of game, senior tackle false starting at home, pp heisman pose selfish, very undisciplined. clean it up. coach i think you are a hellava man and i would be proud if i had a son to have him play for you. But as a football man you x and o's need to be better. You are responsible for why this offense sucks. Fix it. or LSU will find someone that will. I love the spirit of this team and the thing that has everyone so fired up is this team could go all the way if we get our offense rolling. No. Coaches don't lose track of the snap count. Coaches do not tackle a player 4 yards out of bounds. Coaches do not hold. The only way to blame a coach for stupid penalties is if he keeps a player in the game who persistently commits the same penalty. Got an example of that?
