Ugh Callers flood ehealthinsurance asking 'Where's My Free Obama Care?' There were a lot of people who were relieved to see President Obama's health care reform bill go through on March 25. But there are even more people who are confused about what it all means for them -- at least based on the calls to ehealthinsurance.com's expert advice hotline. The company says they've received hundreds of thousands of calls from consumers, 80,000 of which came in in March. Most of the help-seekers are asking questions about when the bill takes effect and what changes they're going to see, but many are under the impression that they're going to get coverage for free, says Carrie McLean, a consumer specialist for the company. "We actually started to get calls right when President Obama was elected from people thinking that things were going to change instantly. Once the bill passed, we started to get calls into our call center from people wanting to know if they were going to have 'free Obama care.' People are confused about what the bill means, and what's in it."
Couldn't answer that one, because it is far from free. We'll all be paying for it and not just financially.
Maybe you guys travel in different circles than me (there is a slow one down the middle for SabanFan to knock out of the park), but...the mindset you rail against does think that daddy O is giving out free stuff. I see it every day. I do work in the public sector, now, so maybe that is the difference. A board member of our organization stated, in public, and with 100% confidence that our budget overage was no problem since the new president (that would be Daddy O) was gonna give us all the money we needed or wanted for education. She thought, I reckon, that planes would fly by and just drop dollars. Same with healthcare. There is some % of the uninsured with the entitlement mentality that expect free and they expect top of the line free, too. Oh yeah, and no wait in line, either. Good Luck.
