Rivals reporting that he (cj) will be drafted in the first two or three rounds. This is from his HS coach I believe so it may be a little biased? Any more news on this out there anywhere? I sure would like to see CJ in our DBF but I guess he does have to do what he has to do?

I've heard he's towards the bottom of some top 200 prospects lists. Teams will be wary of drafting him because of football, plus he's an outfielder, not a pitcher like some people think, so I don't think he'll be drafted in the first two rounds. The third round is a possiblity, but I expect it will be more like the 5th.

I think it will go down just like with Jared Mitchell. He gets drafted relatively high, with enough money on the table to make us nervous. We won't know for sure until classes start, but ultimately Chad will be a Tiger.

What is Miles's policy for dual sports?
If Jones gets drafted, and wants to try to do both, has Miles given any indication of how he would handle that?
I know it hasn't worked out in the past. I can remember Jaimie Howard trying that, and then there was the Josh Booty fiasco, but I can't remember anyone having any real success trying to do both. What about Mauk? Didn't he play baseball?

Mitchel is from my area, and I know one thing that helped get him onto the football field is that he decided to pass on the MLB all together and play college ball. Is this an option for Jones?

Jared Mitchell & Chris Jackson have both done it. Miles is willing to work with dual sport athletes & their coaches. We also have several players that do track & football.

Jared is playing baseball & football at LSU, which is exactly what I expect Jones to do.

He'll never do both. If he gets drafted high enough and has good money on the table whoever signs him will not let him play football. Parso, you have been pretty solid on this since signing day and I hope your right. Still makes me a bit nervous based on what I've read although none of it has been recently.

I posted awhile back during last year recruiting that Jones wants 1st round money to go to the MLB. With the new rule into place, if he goes in the 3rd round teams are not allowed to pay him 1st round $$$. However, I havent heard anthing since then and he might have changed his outlook.

Ive never really followed the baseball draft but with Chad its become more interesting. I found that baseball teams are tight lipped about who they are looking at and no information is shared by scouts. One site even said the scouts scout the scouts to get info on who other teams are looking at and who the better players are. Many of the teams are hush, hush about who they are going to draft and usually talk directly to the player and inform them of their draft intentions. Could it be that Chad has been told something which caused this rivals report to come out? Who knows.

Everything I've found indicates that Chad likes baseball more than football but all those quotes have been made to baseball people so again, who knows.

The only new information I could find about Jones was this quote from baseball america.

There was also some discussion about him on another site. I dont remember where I saw it. I think it was perfect game.com

It sounds like Chad is having a pretty good baseball season but I couldnt find any articles or stats on just how good he's doing. Does anyone know this info?
