I really had no idea how serious the injuries were and it is amazing he is back lifting weights and get ready for the Chargers.

Coma for 7 days, Little brain damage, and cracked vertebrate.

Daily Reveille - Football: Byrd continues to recover in Miami

That's incredible that he's bounced back as much as he has from such serious injuries. I'll be praying that he can make a full recovery.

Good grief, I must have been away from TF the week this happened because I hadn't even heard of D Byrd being in a an accident, much less being in a coma for 7 days!

Okay, went back to read the original thread about the accident and I did remember reading it.

I guess the 7 days in coma is what threw me off, much like bhelm.

Our original thread certainly left us confused as to what really was going on with his condition.

    Now we know the truth.

I assume Mastermind will be utterly shocked as he had heard Byrd came out of the accident pretty much unscathed.

The only updates we got were he was doing good and recovering quickly, etc...

Most likely because this accident happened so close to the NFL draft. Not sure of the dates but was he even out of his coma when he was drafted?

An actual freaking coma??!!?? like barely alive type of stuff, not just a figure of speech on not being totaly lucid? That's unbelievable.

Well only the New York Times, lol.

I had no idea where you heard it from.

Obviously everyone was left in the dark as to what his actual condition was.

I certainly am shocked to hear about this.

blame it on his agents who lied and said he was OK so as to not scare off the NFL teams.

If I'd be the team who drafted him, I'd be really upset right now.
