Chargers acquire Johnson, sign Byrd Four years, doesn't say anything about $$$$$ Did some checking and Buster Davis is listed third on the depth chart. Thats disappointing, thought he would at least be starting by now. Thought this was kind of a cool pic: San Diego Chargers wide receiver Buster Davis (84) hauls in a pass in front of Atlanta Falcons cornerback Chevis Jackson (22) during the first half of their pre season NFL football game Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, in Atlanta. Chargers Sign the Byrd man The Chargers are alright with me.... Byrd signed despite accident By Kevin Acee Union-Tribune Staff Writer 2:00 a.m. September 1, 2009 The Chargers yesterday signed seventh-round pick Demetrius Byrd, who is almost certainly headed to injured reserve. Byrd, a receiver, was seriously injured in an automobile accident the week before the draft. He watched yesterday's practice. While Chargers coach Norv Turner called Byrd's progress “amazing,” he is far from being ready to play. His signing allows the Chargers to take their time monitoring his progress and do so with him in-house.
Re: Chargers Sign the Byrd man Could end up a SMART move for the Bolts. Get a 2nd or 3rd rounder for a 7th, who you usually don't plan to make the team anyhow. Wait a year, see if he heals well. I hope it works out for him. His last second catch against Auburn is one of the top 10 plays in LSU football history, IMO.
talked to him about 3 weeks ago, he's still way off from being able to play mentally. He's a little off in the head currently, which I guess is an upgrade from being in a coma like he was. He's had some trouble with memory, etc... But they say he will be 100% this time next year, so hopefully he can stick in San Diego.
