NO BCS FOR BOISE! NO BCS FOR BOISE! Regardless of whether or not the Tigers win tomorrow, I was elated to see Boise LOSE! If only TCU were not undefeated. I don't see them losing to New Mexico. They do not deserve to go to a BCS Bowl, and especially not the BCS Title Game, with their lame schedule.
I'm not sure it will matter unless we get a lot of help. Stanford, Wisconsin, Ohio St, and TCU will all be thinking the same thing. Thing is, with Auburn in the title game with a win, I'm not sure we have a chance of matching up against them again.
If Oregon loses and TCU and LSU are the highest ranked teams behind Auburn, what happens?? How can you say TCU deserves a spot with their schedule? It would be b/t Stanford, Wisconsin, LSU and TCU for #2.
yeah baby!!!!!! Nevada restored some sanity to the BCS, no way in HELL should Boise or TCU be even in the discussion for a national title. To be the best you have to beat the best CONSISTENTLY!!!!
Opponent win-loss record should definitely be significant enough in the BCS formula to factor out a Boise or TCU. You shouldn't be able to skate around real competition and cheat a team who is challenged to get wins week-in, week-out. Oh yeah, and determining a champions should never include a "formula". Let's get to a playoff already. This poll nonsense is a joke! It almost ruins college football. Games are supposed to be won on the field, not in a poll. This ain't a stupid election, it's a football game.
Most of the time you can get the top 12 teams relatively correctly. In 2008, an 11-5 Patriot team didn't make the playoffs b/c the Dolphins won the tiebraker for the division and Indy was 12-4 and the #6 seed also won a tiebraker vs. Pats. Meanwhile, an 8-8 SD Chargers make it b/c their division sucked. It' won't be perfect, but it certainly will be better than the crap we go by now. The Charger ended up losing in the playoffs, so the cream definitely rises to the top and all is right in the football universe. In summation, I guess a poll or BCS-type system would be in use. The six BCS conference champs get in plus 6 "wild cads". Maybe the six highest rated non-conference champs. I'm not 100% on all the nuts and bolts, but it couldn't be much worse then not having a tournament decide championships on the field.
