His defense was the #1 reason LSU played in the NC game in 2011 and why so many juniors could go to the NFL. Buy at the low point peoples.
While true, it was a talent heavy D. I am concerned at the development of these kids as no one can seem to tackle right or stay in position for more than 2 plays in a row.
Hard to say...Chief is what 57 or so. He maybe on his last hurrah. What he did for LSU has been wonderful but the last 2 years have seen fundamental and communication breakdowns. It maybe that time has taken its toll and his ability to make contact with the players today is fading. I could take 3rd & Chavis much better if it appeared that the D was fundamentally sound. It isn't this year at any level. Poor tackling, breakdowns on almost every play at every level make it seem there is no driving force behind things. He deserves the chance to right things but if next year doesn't see a return to the high standard he has held I may change my opinion.
