Welcome...been over on you board a little. Funny how the 10 year old corn dog joke is still breathing. I thought it had died 3-4 years ago.

pretty cocky bunch over there. real napoleon complex too. for some reason, they expect lsu to think butler has no shot.

Our girls do not compare to girls of the SEC. My cousins went to Auburn and I went to some football games when they were in college there and it is night and day difference. Don't expect much! It is however a 3 girl to 1 guy ratio so odds are on yuor side.

With reagrds to the board - the reason we think that way is because this is the most annoying part of the year. We were bombarded with Maryland fans, Mississippi State fans, and Florida fans telling us how unathletic we are and how we cannot compete with SEC teams and are going to get killed by a real basketball team. We have grown used to hearing this and to your credit you are not making those claims as frequently as other BCS schools.

With regards to the bench play you have to keep in mind as well that your depth is obviously a lot better. Wehave the same number of scholarships but your ability to recruit bench players who would love to play basketball at LSU is much easier than finding those players for Butler.

So I have shared a lot of information... based on what you have seen above what is the one biggest advantage for LSU and the one biggest concern for LSU in the matchup?

butler should be concerned that they get so much of their pts from 3, but lsu defends the 3 very well. i think lsu's ability to do this comes from length on the perimeter and tenacious m2m D.

clearly, lsu should be most concerned with stopping howard. if he gets off, or if he needs too much attention, then lsu can only win a nail-biter if things are working well on O (unfortunately, butler is pretty good at that end).

I think the reason for this now is we are so close in seeding. If it were 4 against 12 then you would probably have a lot of Elmo's giving you some razzing. Plus basketball has been just a slight distraction between football and baseball. Another few years of success and we will probably have the bandwagon full again.

Definitely a concern for Butler is how we rely on the 3. We have lived and died by it for the last 10 years. It usually works out in the end, for a mid-major. This is the main reason we struggled down the stretch. We were shooting terrible from behind the arc - probably under 20% in the last 5 games.

Next year will be a change though. We have a big man recruit coming in who could create a "new look" Butler team.
