Did anyone hear on Buddy's show today that Butch Pierre will no longer be on Trent Johnson's staff? Buddy made it sound like Butch was not happy that he wasn't LSU's next basketball coach and that he might be trying to steer LSU's new recruits elsewhere. I can understand that Butch is upset about not being selected, but I never thought he would try to hurt LSU by steering recruits to other schools. He did a lot for LSU, but these actions will certainly damage his legacy at LSU. I wonder if he had impact on J'Mason's lack of commitment to LSU.
Last I heard he was currently on staff at LSU after being offered a position. However, I also heard he will make his final decision to stay or not in a month or so while searching out potential options. But the general feeling was that he was to remain on the staff this season. Maybe something new developed over the last week that I missed.
I'm not sure it's a good idea to have a man on the staff who very much wanted the head job for himself.

Only if he tries to steer LSU recruits to follow him. Pierre was bound to get a head coach job this year or the next. I wish him the best.
