Of course. That is why we have learned about mission creep and not to let it escalate. Advisors make sense. They don't risk casualties, they don't cost much, but they do provide support to an ally that we need to support or they will simply become an Iranian ally. Iran isn't threatened by ISIS either, but they send advisors over to influence what they hope will become a buffer state that they control. We will continue to support Iraq for no other reason than it pisses of Iran and gives us more leverage against them. But we don't fight their wars for them while they sit and eat falafel.
